Product Condition Policy
Every trailer we sell — new or used — is inspected and disclosed honestly before it ever reaches the lot. Here's exactly how we grade condition, what "new" and "used" mean at Best Choice Trailers, and what to expect at the point of sale.
How We Define New vs. Used
Every trailer on our lot is clearly labeled by condition before you ever ask. We don't use vague terms — each unit falls into one of the categories below, and our sales team can tell you exactly which one applies to any trailer you're looking at.
Brand New
Factory-direct from the manufacturer, never titled or registered to a previous owner. Sold with full manufacturer warranty coverage.
Pre-Owned
Previously owned and inspected by our team. Condition, mileage of use, and any known issues are disclosed in writing before purchase.
Trade-In Units
Accepted on new trailer purchases and inspected the same way as any pre-owned unit before being offered for resale.
The Short Version
New trailers are exactly that — never titled, sold with full manufacturer warranty. Used and trade-in trailers are inspected, and any condition issues we're aware of are disclosed to you in writing before you sign. If it isn't in writing, ask — we'd rather answer the question than have you guess.
Our Trailer Inspection Process
Before any pre-owned or trade-in trailer goes up for sale, our team walks it end to end. This isn't a quick glance — it's a documented check of the systems that actually matter once you're towing.
Frame & Structure
Checked for rust-through, cracks, prior repairs, and structural integrity.
Axles, Tires & Brakes
Tire tread, bearing condition, brake function, and axle alignment inspected.
Electrical & Lighting
Wiring, brake lights, turn signals, and trailer connectors tested under load.
Deck, Doors & Hardware
Decking, ramps, gates, latches, and hydraulics checked for wear and function.
Any deficiencies found during inspection are either repaired before the trailer is listed, or disclosed to you clearly if they remain — cosmetic wear, prior repairs, or anything else that's relevant to your buying decision.
How We Disclose Condition & Imperfections
Cosmetic wear is common on used equipment and doesn't necessarily affect function — but we tell you about it anyway. Every pre-owned trailer listing includes a written condition summary covering things like:
Cosmetic Condition
Surface rust, paint wear, dents, or fading that don't impact structural integrity but are worth knowing about up front.
Mechanical Notes
Anything related to tires, brakes, axles, or hydraulics that was addressed, replaced, or noted for buyer awareness during inspection.
If photos are posted online, we do our best to represent the actual unit accurately, including any visible wear. If you're buying sight unseen or from a distance, ask your sales consultant for current photos and a verbal walkthrough before you commit — we're glad to provide both.
As-Is Sales & What That Means
Understanding "As-Is"
Some used trailers — particularly older or specialty units — are sold "as-is," meaning without an extended warranty beyond what's stated in writing at time of sale. This does not mean condition goes undisclosed. It means the trailer is sold in its current, inspected condition without additional coverage. Any as-is designation and the reasoning behind it will always be stated clearly on your purchase agreement before you sign, and our staff will answer any questions about what is and isn't covered.
Warranty Coverage by Condition
| Condition | Typical Warranty Coverage | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| New | Full manufacturer warranty | Terms vary by brand; details provided at time of sale |
| Used / Pre-Owned | Remaining manufacturer warranty (if applicable) | Confirmed and disclosed prior to purchase |
| As-Is | No additional warranty beyond written disclosure | Clearly marked on purchase agreement |
Warranty terms are set by each trailer manufacturer and are subject to their published coverage documents. Ask your sales consultant for the specific warranty booklet that applies to your unit.
